first_img Facebook Twitter: @NeosKosmos Instagram Oakleigh Grammar officially opened its fully refurbished library earlier this week, with students, staff, parents, and distinguished guests in attendance.Official proceedings took place in the school’s Conference Centre in the presence of His Grace Bishop Iakovos; Angelo Sardellis, president of the school board; Father Geroge Adamakis; Christina Simantiraki, Consul-General of Greece in Melbourne; Steve Dimopoulos, Member for Oakleigh; Mark Robertson, school principal; Kelly O’Dwyer MP; David Davis MP; Sam Vassos, school board member; Nicholas Nicolaou, president of the Parents’ Association; and Jodi Wallace.A blessing was performed after a number of student performances and a guided tour for the guests, with the school principal showcasing the state-of-the art additions to the library, which include high quality WiFi systems supporting the schools Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programs, and automated blinds that can turn the library into a theatre in seconds. Mr Robertson referred to the library as “the heart of the school” and a “safe space for students” to study. Mr Robertson also thanked Kelly O’Dwyer and the federal government for their support and funding of the refurbishment.last_img read more
