first_imgBy Adam ReaburnPower has been restored to Charlie Lake and area residents after losing power for some at 5pm Monday.BC Hydro reports that the power was restored to all their customers in that area at approximately 9:40pm.   At the peak of the outage, over 1,400 customers were without power, with some in the dark for over 4 hours.- Advertisement -According to BC Hydro’s David Conway, the outage was caused by a small electrical fire at a BC Hydro facility near Mile 54 and the Petro Canada Truck stop.One switch on a three phase line caught fire and in order to repair the switch all three parts of the three phase line had to be taken down.  Hydro is currently investigating what caused the fire.The outage stretched from the Highway 29 to Fort St. John. Advertisementlast_img read more
