first_imgThe report of the presence of the Ebola virus in Liberia has worried Gambian U20 footballers who are scheduled to play their Liberian counterparts this Sunday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium. But team doctor, Dr. Kalifa Manneh dispelled their fears and urged them to get set for their first leg African Youth Championship qualifiers.Dr. Manneh told the players that precaution and prevention would be observed highly during their weekend’s visit stay in Liberia.”It is true that the Ebola disease is in Liberia but it has nothing to do with the Gambia U-20 team because in anything that we do, we have precaution, findings, and ways of preventing it,” the paper quoted Dr. Manneh. The national U-20 side, Satellites, has been preparing for their clash against their Gambian counterparts.Meanwhile a press statement from LFA’s Director of Communications Henry Flomo said the game will kick off at 4pm at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.Flomo said the U-20 team is expected to move to camp on Friday. They are: Benjamin Gbamy, Prince Saydee, Blamo Nimely, and Sporo Somah (BYC), Oscar Dorley, Raymond Fanciah, Emmanuel Nimely, Marvin Blapoh, Abdullai Koulibaaly, Loseni Kromah, and Benjamin Sackoh (Monrovia Club Breweries), John Lobbie and Stephen Seameh (NPA), Solomon Yahweh and Sam Jackson (BYC II), Fred Fofana (Watanga FC), Simplice Bearian, Abu Kamara and Moses Tokpah (Ganta Black Stars), Sunnyboy Dolo (Nimba United), Carlos Sanney (LISCR FC), Lee Carter (ELWA United), Titus Kamara (Keitrace FC,) Henry Farkarlun, (Delekon FC) and Moses Quaye (PAGS FC).German trainer Fabien Muers is involved in the physical and mental preparation of the U-20, Flomo said.Liberia last participated in the CAF U-20 in 2012 under Coach Hazel Gray.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
